My Thanksgiving Plans

24 11 2009

My family and me have a fun thanksgiving, nothing too outrageous, just a get together with different grandparents. I’m not positive what are exact agenda is but I think on Thursday morning we will head out to Plymouth to see my dads Mom and stepdad and have “dinner” there and just sit around probably, not really sure. Next up is probably my favorite place my moms parents that live in Portland, all my cousins will be there, and her food is delicious! On Friday I think we might travel to another grandparents house my dads dad and step mom in Howell and will probably get to play fun games and hang out, not so bad! After this we will most likely relax and celebrate, well the meaning of Thanksgiving!  Thanksgiving is a great time to just be together, and that’s exactly what I’m doing this holiday weekend! Here is a wordle about my Thanksgiving plans!

My 13 weeks in Web 2.0 class

23 11 2009

In these thirteen weeks in this class there is lots of information i have learned. I now am able to make a blog, a wiki a website an a glog. There are lots of experiences i'm glad i had, so i can get better in the future. It has been a bit challenging at times when the web doesn't cooperate the way you would like, but that just gives you a good challenge. The things i learned were too many to count. Some of them were taking a snapshot, uploading an image, shrinking, changing from jpeg and posting a comment, like right now! Here is a link to my website/ weebly, or whatever you want to call it. This session has taught a lot and will be useful for my future. Also, there will be one of my wordles down below.

Michigan State beats the Zags, barely

19 11 2009

I am a huge fan of MSU basketball, as you might see. On Tuesday night, they beat Gonzaga 75-71. They were losing at halftime, and i was quite nervous about their chances. The reason being because Gonzaga could not miss a shot all night and the Spartans were doing good, but it looked like not good enough. In the 2nd  half it was teter-tottering back and forth, but with Kalin Lucas’ awesome shot with 39 seconds left, they pulled away with a win. The Spartans next game is against Toledo at the Breslin Center! Hopefully they’ll get an easy W in this one. Until next time, GO SPARTANS!

LSJ Article comment about teachers in Haslett

18 11 2009

I think this situation is terrible for the  students in Haslett because the teachers are always telling you not to do drugs and not smoke and be a good role model. Then, these same teachers turn around, and do those exact things, for me, it would be disappointing. It says these teachers had this incident is 2007, so I’m wondering why authorities are just figuring out the situation now. Now these teachers for example, the girls basketball coach just resigned because he “thought it was best for the program”. I agree with him, but at the same time, the teachers should have known at the time, when they were doing drugs that it could affect their jobs severely, and they could get caught. These teachers made bad choices and should have known to listen to what you say, and know right form wrong, because they lied to the students about what they were saying. In my opinion, they deserve this, they should of been more careful. Here is a link to the article i read about this

I chose this image because it is my favorite sport, i like playing it, watching it, pretty much anything to do with it. My favorite college basketball team is 100% MSU. My favorite pro team is a little more difficult i like the Detroit Pistons, and the Cleveland Cavaliers a lot. Also, at the moment, i’m playing tri-county basketball, and our games start in December sometime. I am on the MVP club for MSU women’s team and i try to go to most of there games. I have tons of books about basketball, and reading about everything! That is just some of the reasons i chose this pic but the main reason is.. simply, it’s awesome!

Uniforms: Like ‘em or Leave ‘em?

17 11 2009

For me, i have mixed feelings about the topic. I think in public schools it is definitely a bad idea because, in my opinion, public means it’s open for everyone, and it’s widespread. So the students should be able to wear anything they like, it’s more freedom of choice. Of course, there is a limit on clothing, like beer logos or rude comments, maybe religious signs, but if you stay within the limits i think it would be fine. In catholic or private schools on the other hand, i understand a bit more why they would want their students to dress a certain way. They might be thinking, well this is a private school, you have to pay tuition, they should dress properly to the standards. If it had something to do with their religion, i think the students could wear it to school because parents shouldn’t get offended because they must like the religion, or they wouldn’t have sent their child there. Uniforms are a broad topic, as you can see i’m kind of in the middle on the topic.

Last Week!

16 11 2009

So far my first trimester has just been so-so, i’ve learned quite a bit though. I’ve learned a ton about how to make and use a blog, wiki, and website. In math i’ve learned about dividing and multiplying fractions and mixed numbers. Also, in history, we’re learning about ancient people and what they were like which is very interesting. Science is very cool too, we get to make really cool notebooks for ourselves. These are probably my favorite classes, for learning, but the others are good too. It’s been good so far, but i’m looking forward to the second trimester!

President for a Day

16 11 2009

I might like to be President, but it would be hard because,

is always going to be somebody that hates you. For me, that

would be kind of depressing emotionally if i was president.

Anyway, if I was, i would make a day once a year where people

could go get $200 dollars from the bank. Weeks ahead of the date,

the U.S. mint would make a lot more money so we could have this

day. The people who would qualify for this are people that are

unemployed and also people who make under a certain income.

For me, if i was one of those families, an extra $200 would be very u

useful. So this is why i would create the day, SAVE THE FAMILIES,

to give people a boost.

USA Freedom

13 11 2009

Hi everybody, i just posted something on Mr. Moore’s website and it was about the freedom in the USA and how other countries don’t have that much freedom. I feel so bad for them and wish they could have the freedom we do, like freedom of speech, clothing, religion. Thank you soldiers for keeping us safe!!
